White House highlights and a congressional first

The couple will visit the White House for an informal tea with President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, plus a garden party, ceremonial military review and a state dinner. King Charles will also address a joint meeting of Congress, becoming only the second British monarch to do so after Queen Elizabeth’s 1991 speech.

New York tributes and charity work

In New York they will visit One World Trade Center to honor victims of the Sept. 11 attacks and meet first responders and families. Their program also includes engagements showcasing The King’s Trust, Charles’s community work with urban farming programs, and Camilla’s Queen’s Reading Room literary event celebrating writers and Winnie the Pooh’s centenary.

Virginia, Bermuda and cultural outreach

The tour continues in Virginia with community events, Appalachian performances and a national park block party for America’s 250th. Separately, the King will travel to Bermuda for a Guard of Honour, community meetings, a Great Bay Coast Guard Station opening, meetings with athletes and briefings on plans to install a telescope site to help track space debris.
