Tea, Praise and a Taste of Britain

The four shared a private tea, reuniting for the first time since the Trumps’ state visit to the U.K. in September 2025. The British Embassy also hosted a garden party featuring British fare — from smoked Scottish salmon to beef, scones and four kinds of tea — prepared for about 650 guests.

It’s Part of a Busy U.S. Visit

The royals’ official program runs April 27–30 in Washington, New York and Virginia, then King Charles travels to Bermuda May 1–2. President Trump recently called the King “a fantastic man” in a BBC interview and suggested the visit could help bilateral ties amid tensions over the war in Iran. The Bermuda trip will be the King’s first as sovereign to a British Overseas Territory after his accession following Queen Elizabeth’s death in 2022.
