The song that kept coming back

Wilson and bandmate Errol Brown co-wrote 'You Sexy Thing,' released in 1975. The single climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and enjoyed renewed popularity in the 1990s after appearing in the film The Full Monty, as well as placements in other movies over the years.

From partnership to solo years

Wilson and Brown met in London in 1968 and formed Hot Chocolate together. Wilson initially sang lead, helped spark creative collaborations and even worked on a version of John Lennon’s 'Give Peace a Chance' that Lennon approved. Later disputes over royalties and band roles led Wilson to leave and pursue solo projects; his solo albums did not achieve major success and he largely stepped back from releasing music by the 1980s.
