Colleton County Coroner Richard M. Harvey confirmed Carter died of blunt force injuries sustained in a single-vehicle collision on April 25. Authorities say the 2026 Tesla left the roadway, struck a curve, a utility pole and a fence, then overturned. Carter was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to a local hospital, where he later died; his death was ruled accidental and the crash remains under investigation.
