The East Room was styled with English garden motifs, cherry blossoms in the Grand Foyer and spring blooms on tables. Military musicians performed, wines from Hopkins, Penner-Ash and Newton were served, and china services from the Clinton and Bush administrations were used to honor the US–UK relationship.
The day before, the Trumps hosted a private afternoon tea for the royals. The British Embassy then threw a garden party for over 600 guests where chefs prepared thousands of British-style sandwiches and warm scones with clotted cream and jam.
