Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit from a previous relationship, was found guilty following a six-week trial and sentenced to four years in prison. Oslo police had arrested him in August 2024 after an incident in which a person was detained; he was held for about 30 hours. The court convicted him on multiple counts, including two counts of rape, and ordered him to pay compensation to several women; he was acquitted on two other charges.
