Humble beginnings at JTCC

Alphina and Frances Sr. moved to Maryland in 1996 and welcomed the twins in January 1998. Their father’s job at the Junior Tennis Champions Center meant the boys grew up inside the sport’s world, sharing stories and dreams while sometimes sleeping on a massage table between shifts.

Two paths, one passion

Frances climbed the pro ranks and by 2026 was contesting a US Open semifinal and sitting at world No. 12. Franklin pursued a different route: varsity tennis at DeMatha, a stint at Salisbury University, then community college, and eventually a turn toward coaching after stepping back from full-time competition.
